The Army and Covid-19

Delivering support, maintaining defence, and planning evolution

There has been lots of media coverage of the Army’s support to the UK’s Covid-19 response.  Behind the scenes, however, it has also managed the safety of its 112,000 soldiers and their barrack communities and maintained their training and deployment on overseas operations. It is also planning a major restructure to meet the defence requirements of the modern era. This is a unique opportunity to talk to Brigadier Ben M A Wrench, Commander 51st Infantry Brigade, Headquarters Scotland, and Joint Military Command Scotland, to gain insight into how the Army has learned to live with Covid-19  while delivering key outputs, supporting contingency, and planning its evolution.
