Talks & PanelsFree

More than just words

Join comic artists Frank Quitely FRSE and Gary Erskine, and animator Dr Mhairi Towler to hear how they use visual narratives to communicate.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Telling stories in images provides a powerful narrative; stopping the reader in their tracks through the creation of emotion, tension and empathy. Visual narratives are also increasingly used to communicate complex research ideas, making them accessible to everyone. Join comic artists Frank Quitely FRSE and Gary Erskine, and animator / entrepreneur Dr Mhairi Towler to hear how they use visual narratives to tell stories in fiction and in research.
