History is our playground

From the tapestry to the cinema, to the books, documentaries and plays that lie in between, humans are obsessed with finding new, engaging ways to encounter our past.

Videogames are the latest in a long line of types of media through which millions of people now engage with history on a daily basis.

Come along to our series of Tea and Talks to speak to some of the scholars that are treating these historical games seriously and trying to work out the promises and pitfalls of a medium that allows us all to play with our past in new ways.

In this session, Dr Iain Donald and Dr Nick Webber will introduce the Historical Games Network and an overview of historical games research.

All Tea & Talk events will take place using Zoom Meetings so attendees can take part using audio and video. To encourage discussion and allow for everyone an opportunity to ask questions we have limited the number of spaces available.
